WEARING AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Wearing and care instructions for stainless steel with 18K real gold plating
To ensure that you can enjoy your jewelry for as long as possible, we have some tips and tricks for you:
Wearing instructions
- Be careful with cosmetics: Avoid direct contact with cosmetics such as perfumes, hairsprays or lotions as these chemicals can damage the gold plating. It is best to wear your jewelry only after you have gotten ready.
- Sport and freetime: Thanks to the high corrosion resistance of stainless steel, you can generally wear your jewelry while exercising. However, it is recommended that you exercise caution during intense activities that lead to heavy sweating or direct impact to avoid damage or loss.
- Handling water: Stainless steel is generally suitable for contact with water due to its resistance to corrosion. This means that you can theoretically wear your jewellery when washing your hands, taking a shower or even taking the occasional dip in the sea. However, long-term exposure to salt water and very frequent exposure to chlorinated and salt water can affect the gold plating. It is therefore advisable to exercise caution when frequently coming into contact with water.
- Sleep: Although stainless steel is durable, we recommend removing your jewelry before going to bed to avoid deformation or damage.
Care instructions
- Cleaning: For everyday cleaning, a soft, dry cloth is sufficient to remove fingerprints or dust. If necessary, you can wash the jewelry in lukewarm soapy water. Use a soft brush and rinse the jewelry thoroughly with clean water. Then dry it with a soft cloth.
- Chemicals: Do not expose your jewelry to harsh chemicals, solvents or aggressive cleaning agents. These can damage the surface.
- Professional cleaning: If the gold plating is very dirty or needs to be refreshed, professional cleaning may be advisable.
storage
- Separation: Store each piece of jewelry separately to avoid scratches.
- Dryness: Make sure the storage location is dry. Moisture can cause corrosion, even in stainless steel.
- Direct sunlight: Long-term exposure to direct sunlight should be avoided. Although stainless steel and the PVD coating are resistant to UV radiation, prolonged exposure to strong sunlight may cause a slight change in color over the long term. If possible, store your jewelry in a shady, cool place to maximize the lifespan of the gold plating.
By following these tips, you can ensure that your jewelry retains its shine and beauty for many years to come.
